This Conference will be held at the Friends Meeting House, Oxford, and will include a sandwich lunch. George Bright and French psychoanalysts who have been involved for many years in a Jung-Freud group in France will add to the discussion by commenting on their experience. Advance booking is advised. Participants may find it helpful to read the relevant letters beforehand. For those who do not have a copy of the Freud/Jung Letters, copies of the relevant letters will be available from the SAP office.
James Astor is an Emeritus Training Analyst of the Society of Analytical Psychology, organisational consultant, member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Analytical Psychology. Author of Michael Fordham, Innovations in Analytical Psychology, and numerous papers on Analytical Psychology, on the relation of Analytical Psychology and psychoanalysis, supervision and empathy, and most recently, on authenticity and writing analytical papers and on Fordham and defences of the self.
James Fisher is a member of the Psychoanalytic Section (now the BPA) of the BAP. He was previously a university lecturer in philosophy and is currently in full time private psychoanalytic practice. He is a former staff member of the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships – now Senior Fellow of the TCCR. He is author of The Uninvited Guest: Emerging from Narcissism towards Marriage (Karnac Books) and papers published in IJP, the JBAP, and other book collections and journals including most recently 'The emotional experience of K' in the IJP 2006: 87: 1223-1237. His current projects include a study of Bion's early writings entitled Bion and Beyond: a Dialogue with the Early Writings of W.R. Bion and a study of the role of imagination in psychoanalysis (the IMAGING position) as seen in three tragedies of Shakespeare.

Freud Meets Jung: A Centenary Celebration is a conference to mark the first meeting between Freud and Jung in Vienna in 1907.
