Consultation Service

A consultation service is available to people who wish to explore whether psychotherapy or analysis would be helpful to them. They will be given an opportunity to talk about themselves, their difficulties and, if they wish, will be referred to a suitable analyst.

Analysis may be helpful for a range of life problems and, disturbances such as:

Those whom a doctor might refer for treatment, such as eating disorders, drug abuse, alcoholism, depression, phobias, severe anxiety.
Those which derive from past or recent trauma, such as sexual or other abuse, torture, involvement in accidents, redundancy, divorce, forced emigration.
Feelings which make life in some way unbearable or meaningless, have led to difficulties at work or with personal relationships or arise from the hope that life could be changed for the better. These would include difficulties with sexual orientation or gender identity.
Help with life crises as can arise at various stages from starting school, leaving care, thinking of a career, marital problems, early retirement, mid-life depression, realisation of old age.

The patient may see the analyst between once and five times a week. A fee is charged for treatment and the amount by arrangement between analyst and patient.

Who are the Analysts?

They are members of the Society of Analytical Psychology. This means they have completed an analytic training of at least four years, which includes close supervision of their work and undergoing a personal analysis.
